  • Under the direction and leadership of the Head of School, the Principal oversees the daily administration of the Grammar school faculty, staff, parents, and student body. He/she leads Grammar school faculty and staff and works in tandem with other administrative and staff leaders. Together, the Principals, EE Director, and Head of School serve as the educational leaders of Horizon Prep; responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe traditional Christian learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school. He/she oversees Grammar faculty and staff to achieve academic excellence and works collaboratively to direct, nurture, manage, and evaluate all members of the Grammar school faculty and staff and to communicate effectively with parents. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for budgeting, scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility oversight.  The Grammar Principal should be someone capable of making difficult decisions, have leadership qualities that include team building and hold all these responsibilities with a Biblical worldview.  

  • The Athletic Director will guide and direct the day-to-day operation of the Horizon Prep athletic department. This includes supervision of the assistant athletic director, coaches, game day personnel, all student-athletes and the community at large. The Athletic Director is responsible for the fiscal management of the Athletic Department’s facilities, equipment, rental agreements, budgeting, and fundraising.

  • The Grammar Lead Teacher will be responsible for implementing a Christ-centered curriculum across core subjects including Reading, Grammar, Writing, Math, Science, Bible studies, and Character Education. The teacher will collaborate with administrators, fellow teachers, and staff to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages both academic and spiritual growth. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans that address individual student needs, maintaining accurate records, using technology to enhance learning, and consistently communicating with parents regarding student progress. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, uphold the school’s mission, and contribute to a welcoming and organized classroom environment.

  • Early Ed Lead Teacher will be responsible for overseeing  and implementing  our Montessori influenced curriculum program. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with our director,  assistant teachers , and staff to prepare children for school both academically and socially by using age-appropriate lesson plans, selecting effective developmental materials for the classroom, and utilizing positive behavior reinforcement.

  • Early Ed Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead teacher with activities and learning exercises and help them maintain a friendly, inclusive atmosphere for all students. The assistant will also be responsible for preparing and setting up activities, implementing portions of the daily program as directed by the lead teacher, assist in keeping the classroom, playground and storage areas, clean, neat, and orderly, as well as assisting with children’s bathroom needs.

  • To provide school nursing services for Preschool through High School students when the School Nurse is out.

  • A Substitute Teacher, or Sub, teaches and supervises students in the event that their regular teacher is unable to lead class.Their duties include managing classroom behavior, quickly interpreting lesson plans and creating reports to inform the students' permanent teacher of their success.

 
 

 NOTE:
General qualifications: Agreement with the Statement of Faith, valid teaching credential required (K-12th), early childhood education background desired (Preschool) and minimum 3 years teaching experience preferred.
