Cultivating Excellence
The Horizon Prep Athletic Department is an extension of the greater ministry. Our mission is to cultivate our young athletes to grow into spiritually mature men and women of God. Athletics provides the platform to develop and instill the attributes of integrity, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork and a work ethic that is contagious; ultimately preparing them for their roles as future leaders.
The Vision of Athletics is implemented in three phases and begins with the K-4th Little Lions program. The Little Lions program focuses on introducing young students to an array of sports as well as focusing on the acquisition of proper technique, which translates into skill development and learning team tactics.
The School of Logic Athletics (5th -8th) competes in the South Coast Middle School League. Professional coaches are introduced at the A-team level; they focus the teaching on skill development and team tactics. The School of Rhetoric Athletics (9th-12th) competes in the Frontier League within the CIF San Diego Section. HP coaches will disciple the athletes, refine their skills, and continue to develop team tactics.
